What is this?
The Ohio Attorney General’s office is pleased to partner with the Zero Abuse Project (ZAP) and the Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (ONCAC) in order to provide a virtual Finding Words Ohio course in 2021. This course will be held during the week of February 22 – 26, 2021. It is designed to build the necessary skills to conduct a competent investigative interview of a child abuse victim. Finding Words Ohio is a 5-day course designed for MDTs/investigative teams comprised of forensic interviewers, law enforcement officers, social workers, prosecutors, child protection attorneys. This training includes lecture and discussion, review of videotaped interviews, skill-building exercises and an interview practicum. This online course will require participants to log onto a secure internet connection daily and follow other training guidelines (to be provided). CEUs and CLEs are pending. If you are interested in this training, please complete the registration form below Those who complete the registration process will be notified by January 15th about their placement in this course. If you receive confirmation that you are part of the training class, payment must be made by January 30th in order to secure a seat. As there are 30 seats available, we anticipate a wait list for this course and will work through the list as quickly as possible when there is a cancelation. We recognize that there is an urgency to train forensic interviewers in some areas of our state and will do our best to meet that need. The cost for this training is $250 per participant. ONCAC may be able to provide scholarships for participants connected to a Child Advocacy Center. Please check the box to note your interest in applying for a scholarship. Feel free to contact Nancy.Radcliffe@ohioattorneygeneral.gov with any questions that you may have.
