What is this?
The Adult Advocacy Centers' Diversity & Intersectionality Through the Disability Lens training is a three half-day training designed for service providers and general audiences. This training is for any individual or agency looking to expand or gain knowledge on the topics of diversity, intersectionality, cultural education, and individuals with disabilities. The training is founded in intersectionality and diversity best practices with considerations for the disability community, trauma, and cultural background. Curriculum topic areas include: cultural competency vs. cultural humility, privilege and power, microaggressions, trailblazers in the field, best practices, intersectionality and oppression—all through a disability lens. Training material is delivered through lecture, participation, large and small group discussion, videos and case scenarios.
Number of Attendees: 25 maximum
Cost
The November 16-18, 2022, session of this training is free, thanks to a VOCA grant from the Ohio Attorney General's office. Cost for all other sessions of this training is $200 per person, billed via PayPal after the participant's application is approved.
Times
These trainings are held online from 9 a.m. to noon for the first two days and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the third day.
