Please join OVWA, Elizabeth Well, Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center (OCVJC) Legal Director, Latina Bailey, Crime Victim Rights Attorney, OCVJC, and Micalea Deming, Micaela Deming, Esq., Domestic Violence Civil Attorney and Trainer, for the OVWA Quarterly Member Training - Advocacy for Juveniles, Best Practices and Considerations - Part 2 of 2 – Advanced Advocacy Skills for Children Across Systems. You will learn about the many agencies that may become involved when children/juveniles are victimized, how to navigate and collaborate with various criminal justice partner agencies and other agencies who are charged with the protection of and best interests of and for children, and how our role as an advocate is vitally important in ensuring best outcomes for children/juveniles who have been victimized. We will discuss advanced advocacy concepts including rules and laws governing confidentiality, ensuring that children have access to crime victim rights, barriers to effective advocacy and skills in navigating systems to increase access and positive outcomes. We will learn how to work cooperatively between agencies to ensure comprehensive and effective services for juvenile victims of crime through case examples and live interaction. This webinar is pre-approved for 3.5 CEU's from the State of Ohio CSWMFTB and OVWA training programs are pre-approved through both the Ohio Advocate Network and the National Advocate Credentialing Program.
