SUMMARY:ODVN - Confidentiality and Best Practices in Documenting Client Records
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nConfidentiality and Best Practices in Documenting Client Records \nProper documentation is essential when working with survivors of domestic violence. This one and one-half day training assists advocates by providing a greater understanding of using trauma-informed principles in documentation. You will learn where\, why\, and when to document and identify the risks of documenting too little or too much and the risks unique to custody cases. You will learn about best practices for informed releases of information and confidentiality provisions in VOCA\, VAWA\, and FVPSA. Other topics include managing external requests and protecting documentation when responding to subpoenas and file requests. Join ODVN trainers for this informative and engaging training featuring break-out sessions and role-plays. \nPlease note that this is a two-day training\, with Day 1 from 9 AM to 4 PM and Day 2 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Participants are required to attend both days of training to receive a certificate. \n Registration ends on May 8th.  \nCost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $75 for Non-ODVN Members. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Please contact ODVN at training@odvn.org with any questions.

SUMMARY:ODVN - Youth Advocacy Caucus: Navigating Mandated Visitations with Youth Survivors
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nYouth Advocacy Caucus: Navigating Mandated Visitations with Youth Survivors \nWhen a Survivor as a parent leaves a violent relationship\, the family often must navigate visitation with the abusive parent\, all while dealing with ongoing safety concerns. The emotional and physical toll on both parents and their children\, as they struggle to balance safety and normalcy\, is significant. This caucus aims to raise awareness among advocates about the emotional strain children and teens experience during visitation so they can better support families in these situations. \nThe spring Youth Advocacy Caucus will focus on the challenges surrounding post-separation violence\, trauma reactions\, and youth visitation\, exploring the complexities that impact both children\, teens\, and their (survivor) parents. Join a panel of experts as they share insights and strategies for supporting parents and young people through these difficult and complex experiences that too often bring unfamiliar risks\, stress\, and uncertainty. \nRegistration ends May 16th. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Please contact ODVN at training@odvn.org with any questions.

SUMMARY:ODVN - Reproductive Health & Supporting Safety for Pregnant Survivors
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nJoin ODVN and the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence for this important training session\, free and open to anyone! Under the large spectrum of power and control behaviors that are discussed within the anti-violence field\, reproductive coercion isn’t discussed as frequently. Some of that may be due to our own experience or values with comprehensive sexuality education. In this training\, we will discuss some of the key components around healthy sexuality education\, discuss the various tactics people use to control their partner’s sexual health and autonomy\, and outline ways that staff can effectively screen and respond to signs of reproductive coercion or support survivors who are pregnant. \nRegistration ends May 22nd.  \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Please contact ODVN at training@odvn.org with any questions.
