DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nThis interactive training will equip advocates\, counselors\, and service providers with practical\, trauma-informed strategies to support survivors navigating the complex intersection of domestic violence\, mental health\, and substance use. Participants will explore how trauma impacts behavior\, coping\, and engagement; examine systemic and relational barriers to safety; and learn skills to promote meaningful\, survivor-driven change. Emphasis is placed on harm reduction\, safety planning\, motivational approaches\, and cross-system collaboration to enhance outcomes without increasing risk. The training centers on survivor autonomy\, cultural humility\, and real-world application. \nCost: Free for members; $25 for non-members \nRegistration ends September 1\, 2026.  \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. This virtual training series\, designed for new advocates or seasoned staff\, is comprised of four full days (20 hours) of live training and 20 hours of online pre-learning through ODVN’s eLearning Network. This updated DVAF training includes exciting new videos and participant engagement through scenarios\, break-out sessions\, and panel discussion. \nThe training is a pre-approved program through the Ohio Advocate Network (OAN) credentialing board and meets the training requirements for the Registered Advocate (RA) credential. \n***Pre-Learning Requirement: Attendance is required at all four dates. No partial credit will be given. This is a hybrid training that requires completing 20 hours of online learning prior to the 4 days of live training. \nCost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $150 for Non-ODVN Members. \nDeadline to register: August 26\, 2026 \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
