DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network\nThis training will bring participants together to explore best practices in violence education and prevention programming across Ohio. Participants will gain insight into effective strategies for engaging communities and promoting prevention-focused approaches by hearing from seasoned preventionists. The session will feature a panel of prevention and education staff from Ohio’s domestic violence programs\, offering real-world perspectives and lessons learned from their work. Participants will leave with ideas\, inspiration\, and tools they can adapt to strengthen prevention and education efforts in their own communities. \nRegistration ends April 28th.  \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. SUMMARY:ODVN - Youth Advocacy Caucus: Strengthening Support for Parents and Children: Key Considerations in Post-Separation Parenting and Visitation
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network\nThe May Youth Advocacy Caucus brings together two ODVN programs—the Legal Assistance Program and Youth Advocacy Initiatives—to emphasize the importance of family-centered awareness and services within domestic violence (DV) programs. \nToo often\, DV programs focus primarily on adult survivors during court proceedings and safety planning\, while children and teens become an afterthought—particularly when considering how visitation impacts their well-being. \nThis caucus encourages advocates to intentionally address the effects of visitation on children and family dynamics\, and to confidently engage parents in conversations about those impacts. There should be no gap in services. We must advance a family-centered understanding that supports both the protective parent and the children navigating life between households. \nDesigned to equip domestic violence advocates with practical insight\, this caucus will explore how abuse dynamics can continue through custody and visitation arrangements\, identify ongoing safety concerns\, and strengthen survivor-centered\, trauma-informed advocacy strategies for the entire family. \nRegistration ends April 30th. \nThis event is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
