SUMMARY:ODVN - Justice Systems Advocacy
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nJoin ODVN’s Legal and Training Team for the foundational training for legal advocacy. This two-day training focuses on working within the civil and criminal justice systems in partnership with survivors of domestic violence. Experts with extensive experience will provide information about the realities of navigating the court system for victims of domestic violence. \n**Please note that this is a two (2) day training\, with both days going from 9 AM to 4 PM. Participants are required to attend both days of training in order to receive a certificate. \nThis training is designed for both new and seasoned advocates. \nCost: Free for ODVN Members: $75 for Non-ODVN Members \nRegistration ends on December 1st.  \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. The OVWA Past Presidents will present the Marlene Young Leadership Award during the event\, and we will hold our quarterly member meeting. \nAll members are invited and encouraged to attend. SUMMARY:ODVN - Supportive Groups: The How-to of Group Work with Survivors of Domestic Violence
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nIn this hands-on\, virtual training\, participants will learn about core functions that support groups serve in domestic violence programs\, including a variety of types of support groups like cooking\, play\, trauma-informed wellness groups\, and the more traditional types of survivor group work. Participants will learn about trauma-informed best practices\, and expectations will be rooted in survivor-centered care. Participants will also learn ways to enhance their facilitation skills and navigate challenges that often arise in support groups. Come prepared to apply learning to group activities and discussions with other attendees. \nCost: Free for ODVN members; $25 for non-members \nRegistration ends December 10th. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
