SUMMARY:ODVN - Advocacy Skills Interactive Workshop: Beginning & Ending with Empathy
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nAdvocacy Skills Interactive Workshop: Beginning & Ending with Empathy \nDuring this workshop\, advocates will delve into the importance of empathy when supporting both youth and adult survivors of domestic violence. Additionally\, advocates will be encouraged to explore their own biases and expectations\, ensuring they approach their service with openness and understanding. \nRegistration ends April 18th.  \nCost: Free with a DV program\, organizational\, or individual membership. $20 for non-members. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. SUMMARY:ODVN - Addressing Substance Use & Mental Health with Harm Reduction Strategies
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nAddressing Substance Use & Mental Health with Harm Reduction Strategies \nSubstance use and mental health are highly prevalent concerns among survivors of gender-based violence. In addition\, participants will learn about stigma reduction in community services and how to give power and control back to the survivors. \nRegistration ends April 3rd.  \nCost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $25 for Non-ODVN Members. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. SUMMARY:ODVN - Advocacy Skills Interactive Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network: \nAttending Skills\, Tone\, and Non-Verbals to Bolster Engagement in Voluntary Services\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn domestic violence programming\, survivor-defined advocacy and voluntary engagement are crucial to the success of serving survivors. This workshop will also review how awareness of cultural differences may influence communication styles and how to adapt approaches for genuine engagement.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $20 for Non-ODVN Members. \nDeadline to register: February 21\, 2025 \nThis event is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
