SUMMARY:ODVN - Renew and Restore: Mitigating Vicarious Trauma Using Expressive Arts and Wellness Practices
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network\nCome and join Sonia Ferencik at ODVN’s annual in-person retreat at Highbanks MetroParks. Advocates will immerse themselves in guided imagery\, art-based expression\, and somatic practices\, all while connecting with peers in the healing presence of community and nature. This retreat offers a chance to pause\, reflect\, and honor the vital work you do\, releasing the toll of vicarious trauma\, fostering resilience\, self-care\, and collective support in a nurturing\, uplifting environment designed to recharge both heart and spirit.  Lunch and light breakfast snacks will be provided. Please bring drinks\, and you are encouraged to bring snacks along with blankets\, mats\, markers\, and DRESS comfortably for nature walks\, movement\, and being comfortable. \nCost: Free for members (DV member program\, Organizational\, Individual); $50 for non-members \nRegistration ends June 10th. \nThis event is offered by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center: \nOCVJC offers free cross-disciplinary victims’ rights training via live interactive webinars. These trainings focus on new rights under House Bill 343 and Senate Bill 16\, which became effective in 2023\, as well as recent case law\, and serve to provide the education and tools necessary to help protect victims’ rights at each stage of the criminal justice process and provide guidance on when to refer crime victims to Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center to request free legal assistance. \nThis training is offered by the Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center.
