AGO – Finding Words Ohio: A Child First Course on Interviewing and Preparing Children for Court
The Ohio Attorney General’s office is pleased to partner with the Zero Abuse Project (ZAP) and the Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (ONCAC) in order to provide a virtual Finding Words Ohio course in 2021 This course will be held during the week of February 22 – 26 2021 It is designed to build the necessary skills to conduct a competent investigative interview of a child abuse victim
Finding Words Ohio is a 5-day course designed for MDTs/investigative teams comprised of forensic interviewers law enforcement officers social workers prosecutors child protection attorneys This training includes lecture and discussion review of videotaped interviews skill-building exercises and an interview practicum This online course will require participants to log onto a secure internet connection daily and follow other training guidelines (to be provided) CEUs and CLEs are pending
If you are interested in this training please complete the registration form below Those who complete the registration process will be notified by January 15th about their placement in this course If you receive confirmation that you are part of the training class payment must be made by January 30th in order to secure a seat
As there are 30 seats available we anticipate a wait list for this course and will work through the list as quickly as possible when there is a cancelation We recognize that there is an urgency to train forensic interviewers in some areas of our state and will do our best to meet that need
