Technical Assistance

At OVWA, we are passionate about providing technical assistance to Ohio’s advocates, allied professionals, and their organizations. We strive to develop helpful resources, best practice guides, and one-on-one assistance to Ohio’s victim services providers—and this service is available to OVWA members and non-members alike.

Here are some of the ways we can help. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Reach out to us at info@ovwa.org or 614-787-9000.

  • Design a new program or service
  • Locate resources, studies, and statistics
  • Connect and collaborate with other providers and experts
  • Locate partners for community-wide projects and client relocations
  • Develop trainings for your agency and community
  • Foster a better understanding of the legal system, options, and resources for victims and survivors of crime
  • Mediate concerns between agencies
  • Develop problem-solving strategies at your agency, in the community, and at statewide levels
  • Provide outreach and information to your community about OVWA
  • Support and confidential assistance
  • Analysis of agency policies and procedures to ensure service equity and adherence to funder requirements
  • Grants management education
  • Analysis and advice on ethical concerns (the NOVA Office for Victim Advocacy Ethics is also a wonderful resource)

Funding Advocacy Toolkit

In the 2024-2025 grant cycle, Ohio’s victim service agencies will be impacted by further drastic cuts to VOCA funding. We have developed a toolkit and supplemental funding ask PowerPoint template for prosecutor-based victim witness programs to seek out alternative funding sources. We plan to expand the available resources to include additional program types. Please join our mailing list to stay in the loop!

OVWA is here to help! We are available to collaborate with your program to support your ask. Please contact us at info@ovwa.org or 614-787-9000 for more information and assistance.

Please note: The VOCA funding crisis is an evolving situation. We will update these materials as needed.
