Justice Clearinghouse – Recognizing Signs and Symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury and Strangulation Injuries In Those You Serve

Hosted by Justice Clearinghouse:
The first step to addressing a problem is identifying it. Since the beginning of their careers, many service providers have been unknowingly working with people impacted by brain injury. Yet both professionals and people seeking services are largely unaware that brain injury could be impacting their lives.
This free webinar hosted by Justice Clearinghouse will discuss brain functions and how the brain works, as well as different causes of brain injuries, with a focus on violence. It will discuss the signs and symptoms of brain injury and how it shows up in survivor’s daily lives including physical, emotional, and cognitive consequences, as well as a significant impact on a survivor’s physical and mental health. It will also discuss the overlap between symptoms of psychological trauma and neurological trauma, and address the importance of awareness, education, and identification of potential brain injuries.
Presented by OVWA member, Rachel Ramirez, Director of Health and Disability Programs and the Founder of The Center on Partner-Inflicted Brain Injury at the Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN). NACP Advocates can earn 1 CEU by attending this webinar through the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP).
