ODVN – Advocacy Skills Interactive Workshop: Enhancing Skills in Active Listening Techniques

Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network

This interactive workshop strengthens an advocate’s ability to use active listening to honor and respond to a survivor’s lived experiences. Advocates will engage in hands-on activities and guided practice, including breakout groups to practice skills and share insights. Through scenarios and skill-building exercises, advocates will deepen their capacity to listen with empathy, reflect effectively, ask meaningful questions, and respond without judgment. By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to create supportive spaces where survivors feel heard, validated, and empowered, while fostering trust and promoting survivor autonomy.

Cost: Free with a DV program, organizational, or individual membership. $20 for non-members.
