ODVN – Advocacy Skills Interactive Workshop: Understanding Trauma and Trauma Responses

Hosted by Ohio Domestic Violence Network:

This foundational workshop equips domestic violence advocates with the knowledge and tools to recognize and respond to trauma in individuals who have experienced abuse. Advocates will gain an understanding of how trauma affects the brain, body, and nervous system and how these impacts influence a survivor’s behavior, emotions, and decision-making, particularly in the context of ongoing abuse.  Additionally, we will explore trauma responses such as avoidance, hypervigilance, and emotional numbing, and learn how to respond with empathy and support.

Registration ends August 14th. 

Cost: Free with; $20 for non-members.
