ODVN – Justice Systems Advocacy 2.0

ODVN is offering this new, advanced training for seasoned advocates on the civil and criminal justice system. In Justice Systems Advocacy (JSA) 2.0, participants will receive a deeper dive into foundational legal advocacy concepts like protection orders, unauthorized practice of law, and working with criminalized victims. Additionally, participants will engage in scenario-based learning and discussion to strengthen their skills for navigating challenges in the civil and criminal justice systems, supporting survivors who face significant barriers to support. Presenters will provide important information about best practices for advocates for pro-se clients within an ethical scope of practice and connecting survivors with legal resources across the state. Eligible registrants must have at least 3 years of experience in the field of legal advocacy, or have 1 year of experience and have taken Justice Systems Advocacy (JSA) previously.

Cost: Free for members (DV member program, Organizational, Individual); $25 for non-members
