ODVN – Tuesdays@2 Navigating the Advances and Impacts of AI within Legal Advocacy

This training explores how emerging AI tools are reshaping legal advocacy for domestic violence survivors, including both new opportunities and new risks. Participants will learn how AI can be misused by abusive partners, as well as how these impacts can effect how survivors must navigate the legal system and its limitations. The session will provide advocates with practical strategies for educating survivors on using AI tools to enhance their safety, privacy, and digital boundaries. Participants will also gain skills to support victims of AI-generated abuse material and learn how their own use of AI as advocates can help or harm the survivors they work with. By the end of the training, participants will understand how to integrate technology-informed approaches into their legal advocacy to better protect and empower survivors.
