OVWA Quarterly Member Training: The Intersection of Criminal and Civil Courts for Victims of Crime

Join us for an in-depth training session focused on the considerations for victims of crime within both criminal and civil courts. Our presenters are legal experts who have all focused on issues facing victims of crime in their areas of expertise. They will provide OVWA members with essential information to assist advocates in supporting crime victims through multiple legal systems. During the training, we will explore the intersection of criminal and civil law for crime victims. Attendees will learn how the application of Marsy’s Law rights can safeguard and impact survivors in both criminal and civil courts. Additionally, we will learn about navigating Ohio’s various protection orders and discuss civil justice remedies available to survivors in the various types of legal actions they may pursue in seeking justice.
