OVWA Webinar Wednesday: Considerations in Advocacy for Black & African American Victims of Crime

What are best practices for instilling trust in advocacy relationships when working with victims of crime from the Black community? Join us for this powerful training to better understand some of the historical and generational barriers of engagement with the criminal justice system. We will learn about the specific vulnerabilities of Black victims of crime, how law enforcement and the criminal justice system may be viewed through the lens of the Black community, the cultural differences in responses and the reporting of crimes, and how to provide equitable services while working to create the connections necessary for healing from trauma.
