Sarah Shendy, Case Western University Department of Public Safety, to learn about the Muslim population and how cultural and religious aspects may impact survivors’ ability to seek services, trust in the criminal justice system, and how this vulnerable population may be at an increased risk for hate crimes. We will discuss cultural differences that will allow advocates to understand how to provide services in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed manner.
