Please join OVWA’s Wendy Ricks Hoff, BA, RA, CA, TRCC, Program Director, and Sonia Ferencik, LISW-S, RA, 200-CYT, Youth Advocacy & Trauma Informed Services Coordinator, ODVN, to take a deeper dive into trauma and resiliency. This training will explore how service providers can center the strengths of youth and adult survivors, while also validating their lived experiences of trauma and adversity. PACES (Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences) research has guided programs and communities to change their service design for better outcomes by recognizing the whole journey of an individual. Participants will learn how the groundbreaking research that lead to the ACES questionnaire changed the landscape of our understanding of trauma, and discuss how incorporating the newer research findings of PACES can influence trauma-responsive advocacy skills. Participants will examine how to create necessary changes that enhance interactions with survivors through the creation of policies and procedures, staff training, direct service, and resources and referrals.
If you require accommodations to attend this training, please email us at info@ovwa.org no later than one week prior to the training.
This training is preapproved for CEU’s from OAN, NACP, and the State of Ohio CSWMFT Board.
