ODVN – “Connected in Care” Advocate’s Quarterly Peer Support: A Conversation about Storyholding vs. Storycarrying

April 21 @ 1:00 pm3:00 pm

Alternate Text

Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network

This quarterly peer support session invites advocates into a reflective and restorative conversation about the difference between storyholding and storycarrying in our work with survivors. Together, we will explore how to compassionately witness and honor survivor experiences without internalizing or carrying the emotional weight in ways that contribute to burnout or vicarious trauma. Through guided discussion and writing and art-based reflection activities, advocates will have space to process their experiences creatively and collectively. This session strengthens boundaries, nurtures collective care practices, and supports sustainable advocacy that centers both survivor dignity and advocate well-being.

Registration ends April 14th.
