Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network: Providing Affirming Advocacy with LGBTQIA+ Survivors |
| LGBTQIA+ survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence regularly face barriers to safety and services across a variety of systems. While some programs take steps to promote inclusion externally on websites and signs, addressing systemic anti-gay and trans bias remains a crucial step in providing equitable and accessible services for all. In this training, participants will learn about the impacts of legislative and political attacks on LGBTQIA+ folks, explore real-world examples of unconscious bias, and gain new strategies to advocate alongside survivors in the LGBTQIA+ community. Participants will hear from state and national experts on topics such as safety planning, inclusion, and individual and legislative advocacy with LGBTQIA+ survivors. |
