ODVN – Supporting Safety, Agency, and Justice for Victims of Image-Based Sexual Abuse and AI-Generated Abuse Material

January 27 @ 10:00 am1:00 pm

Alternate Text

Hosted by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network

While the advances and mainstream use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into every day life may be new, the use of technology to abuse and cause harm is not. This training will examine how AI-generated abuse material and image-based sexual abuse are increasingly weaponized within patterns of domestic and sexual violence. Participants will explore the impacts these abusive tactics have on survivors, as well as the unique challenges they present in the sexual and domestic violence advocacy field. Participants will learn practical skills for integrating technology considerations into survivor-centered safety planning. The session will also explore systems-level and policy advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening protections and accountability for abusive uses of AI and image-based sexual abuse material. Finally, the training will offer examples of how technology—including AI—can be leveraged in positive, empowering ways to support survivor safety and well-being.

Cost: Free for members (DV member program, Organizational, Individual); $25 for non-members
